Welcome

Seated "in the middle of everywhere",  just a short drive from Springfield, Peoria, Lincoln, Havana, Bloomington, or your neck of the woods, Mason City is located at the intersection of State Routes 10 & 29. The heart of central Illinois is one of the most productive agricultural areas in the nation. Our dedicated farmers work hard to contribute to that centuries old legacy. We are a family oriented community that offers fine dining establishments, a coffee house, intimate comedy club featuring national acts, a renovated art deco theater showing new movies weekly, new art gallery and studio, nine-hole golf course, state of the art nursing home, new public library, a developing downtown, public pool, clean parks, and a host of small town hospitality and charm . Our Annual Prairie Harvest Days Festival each fall showcases our community and we extend a warm welcome to visitors.
The Illini Central school district #189 is consolidated with the neighboring cities of Easton and San Jose, with all three schools (K-12) under one roof and the Pre-K on the West Campus. "Cougar Pride" is outstanding in our community and we support our growing district.
